The Graber Neufeld house in Nairobi

Some pictures of our home for the next two years; MCC has done a wonderful job of finding us a comfortable and attractive place!
Alex and Carina

Carina pretty much enjoys going from one boy's bed to the other's

Carina likes to forage for avocados from the trees in the yard

Making tortillas - as good as ever!

Ours is the second floor on the left side

End of Turkey/Greece trip

Refugees outside the Greek coast guard, with their confiscated boats.  They leave Turkey at night to cross into Greece on boats that are not always so seaworthy.

We had a day drive around the island, and saw lots of beautiful buildings along with the scenery

Finding sealife was a big activity for us on the island

Up to one of the mountain villages, very beautiful and great views

We took a walk on tracks through the olive and grape fields in the mountains, until the heat was too much

Great salad with a big chunk of feta, fried succhine, mousaka, souvalki--one of the best meals yet!

Great place to explore the sea

The boys spent a while collecting hermit crabs

Walk up a path on the island that took us to an old chapel, some castle ruins, and some nice gnarled trees

Back in Istanbul, enjoying fresh orange juice

Istanbul spice market, too bad we couldn't just load up on a bunch!

July 24 in Turkey and Greece

Saying good-bye to the Grabers at Dulles
Luggage for 2 years in Africa
Lots of excellent food, here enjoying seafood
Turkish delight and other desserts

Turkish coffee in...Turkey

The waiter said fortune is read after drinking turkish coffee, by turning the cup upside down (with the coffee sludge still in it.

And Evan's fortune was "You are bored with something...probably school."  Wow, what a revelation!
Aya Sofya was a highlight--amazing building

With lots of frescos

Evan's "professor Doug" impersonation

Getting reading to board the high speed train

The sleeper car on the slow train had complementary slippers.  Apparently not Jost size slippers!
Night in Selcuk.  Storks roost on top of the ancient aquaduct pillars

Ephesus

Reading from Kindle Bible about Ephesus while sitting in the ruins

The famous library of Ephesus, and a famous fan of libraries (Evan)

Lots of steep but beautiful streets in Greece.  The boys went up faster than their parents.
